Pumpkin Spice is suddenly everywhere. And I mean that literally… beverages, cookies, bread, cakes, yarn, etc. I love fall/autumn season but not pumpkin spice anything. Love the burst of reds and oranges and yellows and definitely the cooler weather. This season also makes me want to bake all the freaking time but I have no one to give it to and the husband and I can't eat dessert daily or it makes keeping our weight, blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure at a normal and reasonable level quite a challenge. So, I usually had to give my husband a maximum of 2 slices of cake and 1 slice for me then pitch the rest of them. There has to be a better way to do this and my new Cast Aluminum Bundt Cake Pan from Nordic Ware is not helping to curb the baking frenzy. Good thing we're done watching this season of The Great British Baking Show as that show is the biggest baking enabler for me.
I was in the middle of designing a rectangular poncho for my mom but when that was all done, it honestly did not look right all over so I frogged that. 2 weeks of crochet was undone in a matter of 30 minutes and the yarn wound back into cakes. Sigh… Then I tried again with the same Rack stitch pattern but this time I'm going for a circular shawl but the stitch pattern and the math is not working out and as you all know, Math and I don't like each other. We're like water and oil with Math being oil. So I frogged again and since my mom has seen the All Shawl by Doris Chan and liked it, I've decided to just make one for her to match mine and I'll just add buttons to it to secure them in place and it'll be just like a poncho only a bit more easier to put on and take off as needed. And I think I'll add buttons to my All Shawl as well so I won't have to fiddle with delicate shawl pins.
