Re-Reading Austen, Preemie Hats & Being Anti-Social

Every year a few weeks before my birthday, I re-read my favorite Jane Austen books beginning with: Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion and ending with my favorite Pride and Prejudice. I didn't really care for Lady Susan so that's not part of my Austen October reading list.

October also starts our annual movie and TV shows marathon beginning with You've Got Mail, Grimm, Hallmark's The Good Witch series, Disney's Halloween Town series, The Adams Family, Harry Potter, LOTR and The Hobbit. The Chronicles of Narnia series, The Polar Express, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, The Christmas Classics series, and It's A Wonderful Life kicks off the Christmas season at our house.

Last year's charity birthday benefactor was the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region and this year, I've decided to crochet preemie hats that will be donated to St. Paul's Catholic Church as I complete a handful. I'm also thinking of baby blankets as I love to crochet blankets especially during the colder months here in Colorado. I just need to figure out how to get more yarn for this undertaking without breaking the bank.

Helena and the Dragon, the 3rd book in the Helena Meets Magic series, is finally out and will be available in all ebook retailer outlets in the next few days.

I know it is completely going against every single indie author's and business advice but I've decided to delete all of my social media accounts and pages. Who would've thought it has grown to so many? I've decided to keep my top favorites like this blog (to share everything crafty), GoodReads (to keep track of my books & reviews), Ravelry (to keep track of my projects & yarn stash) & YouTube (so I can still watch crochet vlogcasts/podcasts and look up recipes). I figured, if I haven't used any of the other social accounts that I have for a month or more, I can most definitely survive without it. Here's to taking back my time and it's been awesome!

Since it's my birth month, I thought it would be appropriate to paint these:
